The traditional food is a food created by certain tribes because of the cultural and geographical conditions in that region. In West Kalimantan, there are so many traditional food because in each region inhabited by various tribes. Tribes in West kalimanatn are Dayak, Malay, Chinese, etc. The taditional food can promote their places.
Bubur pedas is a traditional meal of West Kalimanatan especially in Sambas region. It looks like leaves porridge, eventhough it's named Bubur Pedas, the tastes is not spicy at all. The vegetables that contain in Bubur Pedas such as long bean, sprout, and fern leaves. Bubur Pedas usually served as family gathering.
Kapuas Hulu has a traditional food, named Kerupuk Basah. Kerupuk Basah made from Belidak fish. It can be steam and fried. Kerupuk Basah is eaten with the sauce. The sauce of Kerupuk Basah called Bumbu Kacang. People in Kapuas Hulu called Kerupuk Basah, with "lungkung". Kerupuk Basah usually became a food gift from Kapuas Hulu.
Ale-ale, it's a unique name of traditional food from Ketapang. Ale-ale is a type of smooth-skinned shells that became a traditional food of Ketapang. It usually adding chili to make spicy souce. The type of smooth-skinned shells can be fried and stir-fry. Ale-ale can be served as family gathering and became a food gift from Ketapang.
